Cookie policy

INTRODUCTION

Cookies are small text strings that websites visited send to the user's terminal (usually to the browser being used) where they are stored to be transmitted back to the same sites during the user's next visit.

Users who view the site will have minimal amounts of information inserted into the devices in use (whether they are computers or mobile devices), in small text files called "cookies" saved in the directories used by the User's web browser, for variable periods of time depending on the need and generally ranging from a few hours to several years, with the exception of profiling cookies whose maximum duration is 365 solar days.

This document is an integral part of the Privacy policy and is drawn up in compliance with the Authority's provision of May 8, 2014, published in the Official Gazette no. 126 of June 3, 2014, implementing Directive 2002/58/EC.

The choice to organize the informational documents in this way stems from the desire to ensure greater clarity, in favor of the user, regarding the meaning, use, and deactivation of cookies.

Through cookies, it is possible to semi-permanently record information regarding user preferences and other technical data that allow for easier navigation and greater ease of use and effectiveness of the site itself. For example, cookies can be used to determine if a connection has already been made between the visitor's computer and the visited site to highlight updates or to maintain "login" information.

It is specified that the user can express their preferences regarding the use of cookies on this site (see detailed list in the section below "types of cookies") also through the browser settings following the instructions provided. The user can also set "anonymous browsing" which allows them to browse the internet without saving any information about the sites, pages visited, any passwords entered, and other parameters that may lead to their identity.

THIRD PARTIES

User data is also collected through tools and services provided by third parties and stored by them.

For more information, please refer to the cookies policy of these third parties as better explained later in this document.

Given the objective complexity related to the identification of technologies based on cookies and their very close integration with the operation of applications and the web, users are invited to contact the Controller if they wish to receive any further information regarding the use of cookies and any uses of them - for example by third parties - carried out through this site.

HOW TO CONTROL AND POSSIBLY DISABLE COOKIES

To update or revoke consent to the use of cookies on this site click on  Manage cookies

If the user has doubts or concerns about the use of cookies, it is always possible to intervene to prevent their setting and reading, for example by modifying the privacy settings within the browser used on their terminal, in order to block certain types.

Since browsers - and often different versions of the same browser - differ, sometimes significantly, from each other, if one prefers to act independently, through the preferences of the one in use, it is possible to find detailed information on the necessary procedure in the guide of each of these tools. For an initial overview of the action methods for the most common browsers, you can visit the address www.cookiepedia.co.uk. www.cookiepedia.co.uk.

Therefore, the user can manage preferences related to cookies directly within their browser and prevent - for example - third parties from installing them. Through browser preferences, it is also possible to delete previously installed cookies, including the cookie in which consent to the installation of cookies by this site may have been saved. It is important to note that by disabling all cookies, the operation of this site may be compromised.

COOKIES USED BY THE SITE

The site uses various types of cookies, some to make the site usage more effective, others to enable certain features.

To allow the use of this site and the provision of associated services, the following is used:

  • persistent cookies (i.e., cookies that remain in memory until manually deleted by the user or for which long-term scheduled removal is provided);
  • session cookies, which are not stored persistently on the visitor's computer and disappear when the browser is closed.

It is also specified that first-party cookies are those generated and used by this site, while third-party cookies are generated, always on this site, by third-party subjects.

In specifying that disabling certain cookies may limit the ability to use the site and prevent full benefit from its features and services, it is recalled that the previous paragraph indicates the best ways to manage or disable cookies.

Different types of cookies are operational on this site - with specific functions - which may belong to one or more of the following categories described below.

TECHNICAL COOKIES

In general, technical cookies are those that allow the storage of previous actions or the saving of the user's session or to perform other activities strictly necessary for the operation of a site.

Some of these cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and allow users to browse it, view its contents, and exploit its features

The site uses technical cookies necessary and essential for its operation and to improve the user's browsing experience.

The use of these cookies does not require the consent of the data subject.

FUNCTIONAL COOKIES

"Functionality" cookies (similar to technical cookies in the perspective of the Authority's provision of May 8, 2014, published in the Official Gazette no. 126 of June 3, 2014, implementing Directive 2002/58/EC) allow the site to remember user choices (e.g., username) to provide the user with a more personalized and optimized browsing experience.

Functional cookies are not essential for the operation of the site, but they improve its quality and browsing experience; if these cookies are not accepted, the performance and functionality of the site may not be optimal, and access to its content may be limited.

A particular type of technical cookie is the consent storage cookie; this cookie tracks the user's consent to the use of cookies on this site so that the brief cookie notice and the request for consent are not repeated in subsequent visits.

ANALYTICAL AND PERFORMANCE COOKIES

These are cookies used to collect and analyze information that helps understand how users interact with the site, providing, for example:

  • statistical information on site access and visits related to the last page visited;
  • the number of sections and pages visited and the number of visitors;
  • statistical information on the time spent on the site by the average user;

This information could be associated with user details such as IP address, domain, or browser; however, when analyzed solely for the purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on site usage, the cookies that collect them can be assimilated to technical cookies.

Using the Google Analytics panel, it is possible to understand whether visits have been made by new or returning visitors by checking the navigation mode of the pages (entry links, exit links, page transitions, dwell time, geographical origin, etc.).

AGGREGATED STATISTICAL COOKIES

Where non-completely anonymized services are present, the user will find them listed among the third-party cookies for which consent may be denied, to ensure their privacy.

These cookies, not profiling, are exempt from the need to collect the data subject's consent.

The site uses Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google Inc., which uses cookies to collect and analyze, in aggregate form, information about user navigation on the site. The information generated by the cookie about the user's use of the site (including the IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google servers. Neither the site nor Google associates the user's IP address with any other data they may have to identify them directly.

The use of such cookies is not necessary but allows the Controller to improve its content and services based on the indications obtained from statistical analysis

To release this type of cookie, user consent is not required, but a complete information notice associated with a summary version released through an informative banner is sufficient.

PROFILING COOKIES

The site does not in any way use so-called "profiling" cookies (aimed at creating profiles related to the user and used for sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during web browsing) nor does it use so-called "third-party" cookies (aimed at receiving on their device, during navigation on a site, cookies sent by sites or different web servers).

OTHER THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

These cookies are sent by third-party domains and partner sites that offer their features among the pages of the site.

If you have an account or use the services of such subjects on other websites, they may be able to know that you have visited the site.

Users should also consider that these external subjects, over which the Controller cannot exercise any control, may intercept some of their personal data during browsing even outside the site, thanks to the information stored in the cookies to which consent has been given for use.

The Controller cannot therefore provide guarantees regarding the use made by third-party owners of the information collected.

The use of data collected by these external operators through cookies is subject to their respective privacy policies. For detailed information on this, it is advisable to consult the privacy policies of the services indicated as third-party cookies.

COOKIES PROVIDING INTERACTIVE MAPS

These cookies allow customizable interactive maps to be included within the site. This site uses Google Maps to provide detailed information on the location of its headquarters.

SOCIAL BUTTONS PLUGINS AND WIDGET

The site contains special "buttons" (called "social buttons/widgets") that depict icons of social networks or other services (for example, Facebook). These buttons allow users browsing the site to interact with a "click" directly with the social networks depicted. In this case, the social network acquires data related to the user's visit, while the Controller does not share any browsing information or user data acquired through its site with the social networks accessible through social buttons/widgets.

"Sharing" cookies (or social network cookies) are necessary to allow users to interact with sites through their social account and are used, for example, to express appreciation and share it with their social contacts.

The most common use is for sharing content on social networks. The presence of plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by their respective information to which reference is made.

If a social network user visits the Controller's web pages while logged into their account, such information may be associated with the account. Even if you use plug-in features (for example, by clicking the "Like" button), the information will be associated with the account.

This type of cookie is not essential for the operation of the site.
